Reading this chapter made me think of all the ways famous athletes and movie stars are used to promote items that have nothing to do with their profession. When reflecting on an advertisement I thought of the Nikon commercial with Ashton Kutcher. I know he is not a professional photographer he’s an actor but he is use to promote a camera. This fallacy is accepted by society because it alert them of the new trend that is in at the time. No one argues it because Ashton is a movie star and he wouldn’t back something that would jeopardize his career. Fallacies have become so normal now a days is it just easier not to argue it? you would think with technology it would motive us as a society to become more investigative with resources at our finger tips.
